Lottie claimed that William failed to work and care for them and her father had to supply their support and in 1891 she left home and went to Michigan to earn her own living. At one occasion all of William's clothes were thrown out of a house by the landlady.. She and William Little Hotchkin were divorced in June 1894 at Onondaga County, NY.2
