She married Aubrey Earl Hotchkin Sr. at NE, USA, in 1911. It is likely that this marriage was 30 May 1911. According to the 1930 census he was age 24 and she 20 at marriage.. She married Harry Godfrey Kanzler at Portland, Multnomah County, OR, USA, on 27 September 1937.1 Bertha L. Hecox appeared on the census of 1940 at Portland, Chautauqua County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: Bertha Hotchkin, head, age 48 born 1892 in NE, divorced, clerk in Retail store; son-in-law Frank Becker age 23 born 1917 in NE, married, clerk in grocery store; dau Alene, age 24 born 1916, married, clerk in retail store; grandson Bryan, age 3 born 1937 in NE. Fam in 1935.live in NEily. She married Daniel S. Miller at Portland, Multnomah County, OR, on 24 March 1943.2 Bertha L. Hecox died on 30 January 1965 at Portland, Multnomah County, OR, at age 73. She was buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, at San Diego, San Diego County, CA, USA.

     Bertha appears in the 1940 through 1944 Portland City Directories, as the widow of Aubrey E. Hotchkin, and a saleswomen.
     She had two other marriages; 27 September 1937 to Harry Kanzler, Oregon Marriage Index, Vol 79, pg 235, and 24 March 1943 to Dan S. Miller, Oregon Marriage Index, Vol 87, pg 477; both in Portland, Multnomah Co., OR.

Aubrey Earl Hotchkin Jr. appeared on the census of 1940 at NE State Penitentiary and Hospital, Yankee Hill, Lancaster County, NE, USA. The census lists the family as: Aubrey E. Hotchkin , Inmate #13844, age 27 born 1913 in NE, married, lived in Scotts Bluff, NE in 1935.. He married Maude Edith Perkins at OR, USA, circa 1955. Aubrey Earl Hotchkin Jr. died on 17 September 1970 at Santa Clara, Santa Clara County, CA, USA, at age 59.3,2

     In 1959 Aubrey Jr lived at 3544 Columbia St, #1, San Diego, CA according to the city directory and he lived in Oregon (city unknown) in 1960 when his wife died. The Walla Walla Union, WA, Thursday November 8 1951 has an article about the arrest of Aubrey E. Hotchkin and Roy M. Wyatt for grand larceny and check forgery. The forgery extended from San Bernardino, CA to Pasco and Walla Walla, WA. Wyatt was picked up at a store and Hotchkin at a hotel. Wyatt said that Hotchkin was not involved and probabily didn't even know what he was doing.

     Daniel Charles Doyle was born on 19 February 1882 at Heartwell, Kearney County, NE, USA.1,2 He was the son of Christopher Doyle and Ruth Ann Parsons. He married Neva Blossom Hotchkin at NE, USA, on 29 August 1912.3 Daniel Charles Doyle appeared on the census of 1930 at Eaton, Kearney County, NE, USA. The census lists the family as: Dan Doyle, 48, married at 31, born NE, father born Ireland, mother born NY, farmer; wife Neva, 40, married at 22, born MI, father born NE, mother born MI; son Charles D., 13, born NE; living next door is his brother Clarence.. He died on 17 January 1969 at Hastings, Adams County, NE, USA, at age 86. Obituary.1 He was buried at Minden Cemetery, at Minden, Kearney County, NE, USA.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Layton Funeral Home of Minden for Daniel C. Doyle, 86, of Hastings who died Friday at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. The Rev. David Hansen will officiate and burial will be in the Minden cemetery.
     Doyle was born on a farm near Heartwell and farmed in the Heartwell and Minden community until 1942 when he moved to Hastings where he was employed as an electrician at the former Naval Ammunition Depot. He was a member of the First United Mehtodist Church.
     Survivors are his granddaughter, Mrs. Roger Finningsmier of Grand Island, two great grandchildren and his sister, Mrs. Seril Nelsen of Minden.

Her marriage to Culver is given in Hotchkin Family Reunion Notes, no first name given. Marriage Certificate found in Boone Co. of marriage of Joe H. Culver to Rosa J. Hotchkin, 31 Oct, 1858. The Illinois Marriage Index 1763-1900 calls him Joel H.Culver..1,2

     The marriage of Rozella and Joseph are the only records of the Hotchkin Family in Belvidere, IL. This record was described as, records of C. S. Macreading, MG; 1858-59 M. E. Church, Belvidere Circuit. Rozella name was listed as Rosa A. Hotchkin.
