Marcy James Reinhart, 83, of Grants Pass died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at her daughter's home.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of the Valley-L.B. Hall Funeral Home.
Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives is in charge of arrangements.
Reinhart was born Feb. 18, 1922, in Bremerton, Wash. She worked in the radio industry before becoming an editor of a newspaper. She later made a living as one of the first women building contractors on the West Coast.
In 1970, she married Bobby Reinhart, who died before her. In 2001, she moved to Grants Pass from Sacramento, Calif., to be near her family.
She enjoyed reading and storytelling.
Survivors include three sons, Jim Knox of San Diego, Bob Vaughan of Linwood, Wash., and Skip Newberry of Neu Ulm, Germany; a daughter, Bea Ryan of Grants Pass; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Charles Knox, died in 1944.

Robert Anton Reinhart, 66, of Grants Pass died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of the Valley-L.B. Hall Funeral Home, with Frank Moloney, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives is in charge of arrangements.

Reinhart was born Sept. 14, 1938, in San Francisco. On May 11, 1970, in Hayward, Calif., he married Marcy James, who survives.
For 16 years, he served in the National Guard. He was a musician and performed with the 141st Division Army Band, the 295th pipeband in Sacramento, Calif., and the Sacramento Valley Symphonic Band, in which he toured Europe and Belgium.
He was the house percussionist at Bimbo's in San Francisco and also played with the Ringling Brothers Circus.
In 2001, he moved to Grants Pass from Rancho Cordova to be near his family.
He enjoyed big band jazz, Scottish music, writing Scottish drum music and teaching music. He also enjoyed the circus, and when he was a child, he built a circus in his back yard.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Bea Ryan of Grants Pass; two sons, Jim Knox of San Diego and Skip Newberry of Neu-Ulm, Germany; a brother, Guenther Hofen of Carmichael, Calif; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
