He died on 4 October 1955 at Concord, Merrimack County, NH, USA, at age 84. Obituary is published in the Bridgeport Telegraph on Thursday Oct 6 1955. It said that he was originally from Bridgeport, CT. He worked 42 years for A. W. Burritt Lumber Co before moving to Concord. He is survived by wife Doris Stillson Hotchkins, a daughter Mrs Walter Maher of Concord, and a granddaughter Mrs Lowell Harrison of Canyon, TX..3 He was buried at Long Hill Cemetery, at Trumbull, Fairfield County, CT, USA.

Smith at Jamestown, Chautauqua County, NY, USA, on 20 October 1897. Married 2 years at the 1900 census..2 Robert R. Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1900 at Meadville, Crawford County, PA, USA. The census lists the family as: Robert R. Hotchkin, May 1877, 23, married 2 years, born PA, parents born PA, Brakeman on railroad; wife Florence, Mar 1879, 21, born PA, parents born PA, no children.. He died on 20 April 1903 at Red House, Cattaraugus County, NY, USA, at age 25. .Jamestown, N.Y., April 21.-Eight persons are dead and ten injured, three of them seriously, as the result of the collision between a passenger train and a freight train on the Erie Railroad near Red House, N.Y. Of the dead, only one, Robert Hotchkin, of Meadville, a brakeman, has been identified.

He was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, at Brantford, Brant County Municipality, Canada.

     According to his grandfathers Will of 1907, he was not yet married.
