Willett died on 12 September 2004 at MI, USA, at age 88. Elaine Wright of Clio died at age 88. Funeral services were held at Messiah Lutheran Church, Rev. Erwin Kostizen officiated. O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio handled the arrangements.

Elaine was the daughter of the late James and Grace (Weatherald) Willett. She had resided in the Clio area since 1997 coming from Prescott. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Elaine married Rudolph Waikuiki on December 19,1936 in Flint. He preceded her in death in September 1979. She then married Walter Wright. He preceded her in death.

Elaine taught cooking classes and cake decorating for the Mott Foundation for over 20 years and was also a buyer for Clarks Store Fixtures for 13 years, retiring in 1979.

Surviving are daughters Kaye, Cheryl; grandchildren Timothy, Jamie, Michelle; great grandchildren Robert, Ashley, and Billy.

Elaine was preceded in death by her 3 brothers Clinton, Alanson and Phillip.. She was buried at Flint Memorial Park, at Mount Morris, Genesee County, MI, USA. Widow of Walter Wright at death.

Her hobbies were playing the piano, sewing & gardening. She was a 20 year volunteer for Chattahoochee Hospice, served as American Legion Auxiliary Department President (2000) very active in this veteran organization holding multiple local, district, & state offices before serving as Department President, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in LaFayette, UMW, has always been active in the church from children's through youth while her children were young, served as song leader, choir member, substitute pianist, Sunday School teacher, lay leader to list a few areas. Although Mother moved away several times LaFayette was always "home". So it is fitting that she has now returned home.
She is survived by five daughters, Linda Byers (Ted), Nancy Fariss (John), Sara Edwards, Sue Meyer (Dion), & Barbara DeBoer (Marvin); two brothers, Harlen Williams & Norman Williams; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Arledge, Sr; parents; siblings, John Henry Williams, Homer Cecil Williams, Curtis Williams, Ida Mae Sims, Harold Williams, Horace Williams, Polly Freeman, Bill Williams & Gaines Williams; and a daughter Jo Ann Hudson (Joe). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Legion Auxiliary Department of Alabama 120 N. Jackson St. Montgomery, Alabama 35104.

Born Feb. 21, 1920 in Chambers County, Mr. Williams was retired from East Alabama Lumber Co. as a bookkeeper after 40 years. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a lay speaker in the Methodist Church and a member of Sandy Ridge Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Chattahoochee Hospice.

The family will receive friends at Jeff Jones Funeral Home Wednesday, March 8 from 6 until 8 p.m.

He was 1st Vice President of American Legion District 24, retired after 20 years of service with Tallapoosa River Electric CoOp. He was Board of Directors of the Allen Retreat Center, member of the VFW District Vice President and past president of Chambers County Cattleman's Association. He was a past Sunday School Superintendent at Pleasant Grove Church and was past president of Chattahoochee Hospice Volunteers.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Allen Retreat Center in care of Pleasant Grove Church, 2315 Co. Road 53, LaFayette AL or to the Chatthaoochee Hospice, #6 Medical Park, Valley, AL 36854
