     John was born at Lockport, Niagara County, NY, USA, on 20 March 1923.1 He married Caralyn Hotchkin at Methodist Church, Warren's Corners, Niagara County, NY, USA, on 16 June 1945.2,3 John Alexander Welsh died on 18 May 2003 at Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, SC, USA, at age 80. Death date according to his obituary.. He was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, at Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, SC, USA.

     His obituary says, "John A. Welsh, 80, 5/18 in Spartanburg, SC. Packing engineer worked at Cryovac. WW-2 vet father of four.
     SPARTANBURG, SC -- John Alexander Welsh, 80, of 524 Overland Drive, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Lockport, NY, he was the son of the late Charles Floyd and Delilah Gillis Welsh. Mr. Welsh was employed by W. R. Grace, Cryovac Division, for 36 years, starting in Lockport, NY, and later transferring to Duncan in 1962 as a Packing Engineer and head of R. D. & E., where he retired in 1982. He attended Oregon State University, and served his country as a pilot in World War II.
     A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, he was a member and past chairman of the Administrative Board, Chairman of the Building Committee for Trinitys Christian Life Center, and taught 7th grade Sunday School for 35 years. His classroom was named in his honor. He was a member of the Mens Club at Trinity, and recently he was a volunteer in the Welcome Center at Trinity. A longtime supporter of youth and recreational activities, Mr. Welsh founded the Fernwood Athletic Association, serving many years as chairman and coach, thus touching the lives of many area young people. He received many honors and rewards, including the State Recreation Award from the governor in 1971. He was an advisor for Junior Achievement, a board member and charter member of the Fernwood Pool, and was active in the Boy Scouts of America and the Hillbrook Baseball Association. Mr. Welsh was past president of the board of the Nature Science Museum, served on the Spartanburg County Advisory Board of the Clemson Extension Service, and on the board of Total Ministries for several years. He was a member of the Spartanburg Mens Garden Club, and Past Grand of the International Order of Odd Fellows.
     Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Caralyn Hotchkin Welsh of the home; four sons, John Steven Welsh and his wife Carole of New Orleans, LA, Clifford L. Welsh and his wife Donna of Myrtle Beach, SC, Donald J. Welsh and his wife Linda of Williamsburg, VA, and Jeffrey A. Welsh and his wife Robin of Columbia, SC. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Trinity United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Paul W. Harmon and the Rev. A. Mickey Fisher. Entombment was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or to Total Ministries, 420 Union Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306."

He was the son of William Gustave Wenzel and Velma May Decker. George A. Wenzel married Elsie Augusta Krieger circa 1919 at OH. George A. Wenzel appeared on the census of 1930 at Toledo, Lucas County, OH, USA. The census lists the family as: George A. Wenzel, 26, married at age 24, born in OH, parents born in MI, street car conductor; wife Elsie A, 22, marriage at age 20, born in OH, parents born in Germany.. He died in 1961 at Charlotte, Eaton County, MI, USA. He was buried at South Center Eaton Cemetery, at Charlotte, Eaton County, MI, USA.

     George is found in the 1910 census of Washtenaw Co., MI with his parents, and the census says that he was born in Ohio. George's parentage is cleared up in the 1920 census where he is shown as a step son of Harvey A. Hotchkin.

     Mary's uncle John Hodgkin left Mary a parcel of land according to the probate of his Will, 5 August, 1727. Her married name is given in the documents but it is not at all clear, might be Woflonby.

Dr. Thomas West is the son of Francis West (1606–1692) and Margery Reeves (1608–1672), both of Duxbury, Plymouth Colony. Dr. Thomas West moved to Martha's Vineyard about 1673, and is the ancestor of all the West's on that island. He is the first known doctor on Martha's Vineyard, and also seems to have been a lawyer as well, as he is called "The King's Attorney" in 1681, and "Their Majesties Attorney" in 1690. Dr. West and his wife became members of the Sabbatarian Church in Newport, Rhode Island in 1692, but in 1702 he was excommunicated for not keeping the tenets of the church.. He was buried at West Tisbury Village Cemetery, at West Tisbury, Dukes County, MA, USA.

Full birt date comes from WWI Draft Registration.. He was the son of William Niles Wetherald and Ida Mae Bigalow. Charles Elton Wetherald married Estella M. Albro on 27 June 1906 at Flint, Genesee County, MI, USA. He was 22 and she was 24 according to 1930 census of FlintFlint, Genesee County, MI. The census lists the family as: Charles E. Wetherald, 45, married at 20, born NY, parents born NY; wife Stella M., 46, born MI, married at 24, born MI, father born NY, mother born MI; dau Bernice M, 16, born MI; dau Blanche J., 16, born MI; dau Margaret V., 10, born MI; dau Charlotte E., 6, born MI.. He died on 8 October 1969 at Grand Blanc, Genesee County, MI, USA, at age 84. Mr. Wetherald, who retired as general manufacturing manager of Chevrolet in 1945, was one of the guiding hands for 30 years as Chevrolet grew from a manufacturer of 3,000 automobiles a year to an organization that, at his retirement, had produced more than 18 million cars and trucks. His automotive career began in 1904, when he joined Buick. At that time, Buick had produced only two automobiles. He rose quickly as Buick expanded, becoming foreman in 1906, then assistant superintendent of assembly and superintendent of inspection before assisting in the incorporation of the Mason Motor Co., forerunner of Chevrolet..1,2 He was buried at Sunset Hills Cemetery, at Flint, Genesee County, MI, USA. Charles E. Wetherald, 84, a retired general manufacturing manager of Chevrolet and Vice President of the United States Sugar Co., died by suicide. He'd previously fallen in his Hollywood, Florida, home, injuring his head. The damage was beyond repair. On leave from the hospital to his Grand Blanc home, he shot himself with a .38 caliber revolver in the utility room. He was dead on arrival at Hurley Hospital. His body is interred at the Sunset Hills Mausoleum..

     Middle name comes from WWI Draft Registration.

Perhaps because she had no children of her own, she took great interest in her many nieces and nephews. Golda B. George, 96, of Gladwin, died Sunday, May 18, 1997 after a short illness at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home, Gladwin. Born April 6, 1901 in Clio, she was a homemaker and a member of the Wooden Shoe United Methodist Church. The former Golda Wetherald married Edwin George in 1922 in Flint.

Surviving are two sons, Robert and wife Barbara of Columbiaville and Edwin and wife Gail of Escondido, Calif; two daughter-in-laws, Betty George of Gladwin and Joan George of Northville; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and three sisters.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel with the Rev. Donald Haskell officiating. Burial will be in the Arbutus Cemetery in Beaverton. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to donors favorite charity.. She was buried at Arbutus Cemetery, at Beaverton, Gladwin County, MI, USA.

Age 28 at the 1920 census and 38 at the 1930.2 She was the daughter of William Niles Wetherald and Ida Mae Bigalow. Grace E. Wetherald married James Albert Willett on 29 April 1911 at Ontario, Canada. 1930 Census of Flint, MI says that she was married at age 20. She is a widow at this Census..

     Harry was born at MI, USA, on 4 April 1889. 1900 census of Thetford, MI shows name as Harry H. and birth Mar 1888. The 4 apr 1889 comes from his WWI Draft Registration.. He was the son of William Niles Wetherald and Ida Mae Bigalow. Harry Herbert Wetherald married Ella Mae Nash, daughter of Chester Alvin Nash and Ella Ann Stewart, in September 1904 at Flint, Genesee County, MI, USA. He was married at 18, she at 16.. Harry Herbert Wetherald registered for the World War I Draft on 5 June 1917 while living at Flint, Genesee County, MI, USA. The registration card gave additional information on him: "Harry Herbert Wetherald, born 4 Apr 1889, machinist at Flint Shingle Co, has wife and 6 children.". He appeared on the census of 1930 at Holly, Oakland County, MI, USA. The census lists the family as: Harry Wetherald, 41, married at 18, born MI. parents born MI; wife Ella, 40, married at 16, born MI, father born NY, mother born MI; 13 children age 22 to less than 1. Mother-in-law Ella Urch, 65, widow, married at 15, born MI, parents born NY... He died on 25 April 1963 at Port Angeles, Clallam County, WA, USA, at age 74. He was buried at Mount Angeles Memorial Park, at Port Angeles, Clallam County, WA, USA.

     Hotchkin Reunion Sectretary has name as Henry.
