     William H. Wells was born on 12 October 1853 at Brooklyn, Kings County, NY, USA. Age 17 at the 1870 census of Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of Guy Dudley Wells and Jane Cornelia Mills. William H. Wells died on 20 March 1902 at Brooklyn, Kings County, NY, at age 48.

     His obituary says, "John A. Welsh, 80, 5/18 in Spartanburg, SC. Packing engineer worked at Cryovac. WW-2 vet father of four.
     SPARTANBURG, SC -- John Alexander Welsh, 80, of 524 Overland Drive, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Lockport, NY, he was the son of the late Charles Floyd and Delilah Gillis Welsh. Mr. Welsh was employed by W. R. Grace, Cryovac Division, for 36 years, starting in Lockport, NY, and later transferring to Duncan in 1962 as a Packing Engineer and head of R. D. & E., where he retired in 1982. He attended Oregon State University, and served his country as a pilot in World War II.
     A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, he was a member and past chairman of the Administrative Board, Chairman of the Building Committee for Trinitys Christian Life Center, and taught 7th grade Sunday School for 35 years. His classroom was named in his honor. He was a member of the Mens Club at Trinity, and recently he was a volunteer in the Welcome Center at Trinity. A longtime supporter of youth and recreational activities, Mr. Welsh founded the Fernwood Athletic Association, serving many years as chairman and coach, thus touching the lives of many area young people. He received many honors and rewards, including the State Recreation Award from the governor in 1971. He was an advisor for Junior Achievement, a board member and charter member of the Fernwood Pool, and was active in the Boy Scouts of America and the Hillbrook Baseball Association. Mr. Welsh was past president of the board of the Nature Science Museum, served on the Spartanburg County Advisory Board of the Clemson Extension Service, and on the board of Total Ministries for several years. He was a member of the Spartanburg Mens Garden Club, and Past Grand of the International Order of Odd Fellows.
     Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Caralyn Hotchkin Welsh of the home; four sons, John Steven Welsh and his wife Carole of New Orleans, LA, Clifford L. Welsh and his wife Donna of Myrtle Beach, SC, Donald J. Welsh and his wife Linda of Williamsburg, VA, and Jeffrey A. Welsh and his wife Robin of Columbia, SC. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Trinity United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Paul W. Harmon and the Rev. A. Mickey Fisher. Entombment was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or to Total Ministries, 420 Union Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306."

     George was born at OH, USA, in 1903. George is age 7 at the 1910 census and 16 at the 1920 census. At the 1930 census he is no longer with his parents.. He was the son of Unknown Wenzel and Velma M. Decker. George Wenzel married Elsie A. Unknown circa 1928 at OH. George Wenzel appeared on the census of 1930 at Toledo, Lucas County, OH, USA. The census lists the family as: George A. Wenzel, 26, married at age 24, born in OH, parents born in MI, street car conductor; wife Elsie A, 22, marriage at age 20, born in OH, parents born in Germany..

     George is found in the 1910 census of Washtenaw Co., MI with his parents, and the census says that he was born in Ohio. George's parentage is cleared up in the 1920 census where he is shown as a step son.

     Joan Mae Wenzel is the daughter of George Wenzel and Elsie A. Unknown.

     Unknown Wenzel was born in 1880 at MI, USA. He married Velma M. Decker in 1901 at OH, USA. Married at age 20 according to the 1930 Census..

     Harry Weschgel was born on 19 September 1896 at MI, USA. Age 32 at the 1930 census.^2,3 He appeared on the census of 1930 at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA. The census lists the family as: Frank Weschgel, 65, married at 29, born MI, father born Germany, mother born NY, fruit farmer; wife Anna, 67, married at 31, born MI, parents born austria; son Harry, 32, divorced, born MI; son george, 29, single, born MI; son Walter, 27, single, born MI.. He married Beatrice K. Hotchkin at MI circa 1930.¹ Harry Weschgel died on 4 August 1983 at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, at age 86.^2,3

     The Hotchkin Family Reunion Notes do not give a first name but Harry is listed as divorced at the 1930 census and seems to be the most likely person.

     Nancy was born at PA, USA, in 1833. She married Martin Smith at PA.

     Christopher West was born at Wethersfield, Hartford County, CT, USA, on 26 May 1678. He was the son of Thomas West and Elizabeth Thomas. He married Elizabeth Hodgkin at Guilford, New Haven County, CT, USA, on 17 March 1709. Christopher died after 1710.

     Some writers referred to Christopher as Webb instead of West. NEGHR says that they had a daughter named Mary.

     Curtis West was born at CT, USA, circa 1703. He married Mary Hodgkin at CT.^1,2

     Very little information has been located on Curtis West or Webb as some have called him. His marriage to Mary is described by Talcott.³

     Delia West was born in 1848 at NY, USA.¹ She married Leonard Caswell circa 1865. Delia West died in 1876 at MI, USA.¹ She was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, at Concord, Jackson County, MI, USA, .

     Mary was born at Guilford, New Haven County, CT, USA, on 22 March 1708/9. She was the daughter of Christopher West and Elizabeth Hodgkin.

     Mary's uncle John Hodgkin left Mary a parcel of land according to the probate of his Will, 5 August, 1727. Her married name is given in the documents but it is not at all clear, might be Woflonby.

Full birt date comes from WWI Draft Registration.. He was the son of William Niles Wetherald and Ida May Bigalow. Charles Elton Wetherald married Estella M. Albro on 27 June 1906 at Flint, Genesee County, MI, USA. He was 22 and she was 24 according to 1930 census of FlintFlint, Genesee County, MI. The census lists the family as: Charles E. Wetherald, 45, married at 20, born NY, parents born NY; wife Stella M., 46, born MI, married at 24, born MI, father born NY, mother born MI; dau Bernice M, 16, born MI; dau Blanche J., 16, born MI; dau Margaret V., 10, born MI; dau Charlotte E., 6, born MI.. He died on 8 October 1969 at Grand Blanc, Genesee County, MI, USA, at age 84.^1,2
