Lemuel Monroe was born on 1 March 1759 at Lexington, Middlesex County, MA, USA. He stated this date in his Revolutionary Pension Application. He was the son of Philip Monroe and Abigail Parker. Lemuel Monroe was a Private, andserved in Capt Ammidon"s Company, Col. Sparkhawk's Regt of the MA Malitia, during the Revolutionary War.

He died on 3 August 1854 at Howell, Livingston County, MI, USA, at age 95.

His pension records show that he had a son and daughter. The daughter name is given but not the son. She was Almira and her age was 85 in 1901. At the 1850 census of Howell, MI he is living with Francis Monroe, age 36, born in NY.
