     Lucy was born at Indian Territory, USA, on 14 December 1900. Lucy is age 9 at the 1910 census..² She was the daughter of Alexander Semple Hotchkin and Jennie F. Russell. She married Robert Henry Carson Jr. at CA, USA, on 19 May 1924.³ She resided at Redding, Shasta County, CA, USA, in 1947. She resided at San Francisco, San Francisco County, CA, USA, in 1991. Lucy died on 10 February 1997 at Medford, Jackson County, OR, USA, at age 96.⁴

     Lucy sent the Compiler a clipping that had appeared in The Beeline, Bethany Center, May 1991 regarding her life. "I was born in Ravia, Oklahoma-- or the Indian Territory-- as it did not become a state until 1907, and was named by my grandmother-- Lucy Pearl; Lucy was my aunts name. Grandmother gave me a pair of red shoes every birthday while we lived in Oklahoma. My dad was in the Post Office- always did office work. We moved to Vallejo, California in 1908 or 1909 where he worked in the Navy Yard office at Mare Island. I broke my arm that year playing hopscotch. Two years later our family moved to Klamath Agency, Indian Reservation, Oregon, 30 miles north of Klamath Falls. Dad was Chief Clerk at the Agency. There were no white schools and my Aunt Dell moved out there from Oklahoma and taught at a Day School off the reservation."

     Luella May Hotchkin was born on 1 July 1870 at Rives Twp, Jackson County, MI, USA.^1,2 She was the daughter of Abram Eli Hotchkin Jr. and Harriet Maham. She married John W. Hagadorn at Ransomville, Niagara County, NY, USA, on 20 July 1894. Luella May Hotchkin died in October 1924 at Hornell, Steuben County, NY, USA, at age 54. This seems to be the better death date as an Indenture date 16 March 1925 turns over some land to her heirs.This date is given in Schmidt family bible records.. She died on 1 September 1927 at Hornell, Steuben County, NY, at age 57. ..²

     Jackson Co. Vital Records show her born in Rives on 31 July 1869 to Abram E. and Harriett Hotchkin, both of whom were born in New York. She and her husband, John W. Hagadorn (note difference in spelling) are found at the 1920 census in Steuben Co., NY. Niagara County land records show a document that is probabily the settlement of her estate after her death. "This indenture made the sixteenth day of March in the year Nineteen Hundred and Twenty Five, between, Alice Kilmer, Artimus Hotchkin Maggie Hotchkin, his wife, and John Hotchkin and Libbie Hotchkin, his wife, all of the town of Porter, County of Niagara and the State on New York, Juliette Kilmer of Buffalo, Erie County, New York and Mable E. Schmidt of the City of Cleveland, Ohio, Being all the heirs at law and next of kin of Luella M. Hagadorn, late of the City of Hornell, Stuben Co., NY, deceased, who died intestate (blank) parties of the first part and Albert F. Schmidt of the City of Cleveland, State of Ohio, party of the second part (land description) parcel of land for the sum of one dollar."

     Lulu Deziah Hotchkin was born on 2 October 1877 at Curwensville, Clearfield County, PA, USA. She was the daughter of Levi Oliver Hotchkin and Lydia A. Fee.      Her obituary says that she was trained as a nurse in the Elizabeth NJ General Hospital and later opened her home in Prattsburg as a maternity hospital and eighty children were born there. She was an invalid during the last eleven years of her life. Elsie Hotchkin Moon calls her Lulu Deziah Hotchkin and says that she was born and died in Prattsburg, NY. Her obituary calls her Lulu May.

     The 1870 census has Luther, age 33, a farmer with real property worth $2,500 and personal property worth $1,000 living in Rockland, NY with wife Jane A, and children Oscar T., Harriet P., and Frank E. At the 1880 census, Harriet (Hattie) and Frank are living with their grandparents Albert J. and Hannah Davis, while Luther, wife Fanny and children Evaline, Gurdin, and George L. are living in Liberty. Evaline and Gurdin are really children of her first marriage to Seth Hotchkin. At the 1887 probate of Francis Hotchkin's Will, Fanny Thompkins Hotchkins testified that Luther and his family, plus Seth's children Eva and Gurdon had moved to Cannonsville, Delaware Co., NY. The 1915 Binghamton City Directory lists a Clara, widow of Luther, rooming at 8 Commerce St., who also appears in the 1912 directory as Clara, a housekeeper at 7 Riverside Dr. There is no additional information as to this Luther or Clara.
     Brown calls him Luther Cyrus, but there is no indication as to where this middle name comes from, census repots either have a middle initial of B. or no initial.

     Luther Forrest (Bud) Hotchkin was born on 27 July 1901 at Norwich, Chenango County, NY, USA.¹ He was the son of George Luther Hotchkin and Maude Forrest. He married Lola Wheeler at Mt Upton, Chenango County, NY, USA, on 19 September 1921.² Luther Forrest (Bud) Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1930 at Norwich, Chenango County, NY.      Mabel Frances Hotchkin was born on 11 August 1889 at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Franklin Evi Hotchkin and Mary Winona (Minnie) Hendrick. Mabel Frances Hotchkin died on 16 November 1972 at Lansing, Ingham County, MI, USA, at age 83.^4,3 She was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, at Grand Ledge, Eaton County, MI, USA, .

     Mabel never married and was the family historian, secretary and record keeper at the Hotchkin Family Reunions for many years. Mabel was at the April 1909 reunion of the Michigan and New York families, described in a newspaper article. She attended the 1st Baptist Church of Lansing, MI and worked for 24 years at the Pagoda Restaurant. The Social Security records confirm her birth on 11 August 1889 and death in November 1972. Mabel was the oldest child and drove one of the wagons on the trip from Nebraska to Michigan.

He says that he works for his father Gurdon Hotchkin.".      His birth is recorded based on his Birth Certificate, but his son Kenneth Travis claims that he was born on 5 July 1898. Malcolm was listed in the 1900 census with his parents. His death date and location comes from his son Kenneth Travis. Social Security records give his birth on 5 July 1897 and death in March 1965.

     Male was born at MI, USA, on 12 July 1899. No name given, possibly child didn't live..¹ He was the son of Edwin Andy (Edward) Hotchkin and Alice L. Parshall.

     Malona S. Hotchkin was born on 4 August 1829 at Waterville, Oneida County, NY, USA. Birth location in her obituary. It says that the family moved to Watertown when she was age 4. Age 20 at the 1850 census and listed as August 1829 at the 1900 census.¹ She was the daughter of Josiah Bacon Hotchkin and Mary Ann Bailey. Malona S.      Both Charlotte and Malona were students at the well known Watertown Female Academy. Malona S. Hotchkin made a statement regarding the disappearance of William H., dated 11 February 1913 saying that she was 83 years and a half sister of William H. H. Hotchkin. She never married.
