     Kathryn Louise Hotchkin was born on 25 February 1959 at Parkersburg, Wood County, WV, USA. She was the daughter of George Frederick Hotchkin and Betty Jeanne Morse. Kathryn Louise Hotchkin married Walter Woods Curle Jr. on 16 June 1984 at Navarre, Santa Rosa County, FL, USA.¹ Kathryn Louise Hotchkin died on 15 July 2010 at Covenant Hospice Residence, Pensacola, Escambia County, FL, USA, at age 51. Kathryn Hotchkin Curle, 51, passed quietly in her sleep on July 15th, 2010 at Covenant Hospice Residence, in Pensacola, FL following a long and hard fought battle with cancer. She died just the way she lived, with a grace and dignity beyond description.
Born in Parkersburg, WV February 25th, 1959 she spent most of her childhood in Virginia, graduating from Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach, VA in 1977. After several years of work, school and travel, she traveled to Pensacola Beach for an extended visit with a longtime friend. During this visit, she charmed her future husband and her and Woody (Walter Woods) Curle were married just one year later, June 16th, 1984. Kathryn then began a career that spanned over ten years, working in Sales and Marketing for local resort hotels until she proudly chose to be a stay at home Mom, a job she cherished more than any other.
She enjoyed supporting her kids in local sports, and you could count on Kath to be on the sidelines, cheering the loudest. Kathryn was active in Pensacola Beach Mardi Gras for many years, and was a founding member of the Krewe of Nerieds and was honored to serve as their Queen in the mid 90's.
She was also an avid horse lover since childhood and owned many horses over the years - her beloved Abby was her final loving ride.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Woody; children, Haley and Ethan; parents, George and Betty Hotchkin; siblings, Robin Warren (Bob), Susan Rascoe (Billy), and Rick Hotchkin, all of Virginia Beach, VA; mother-in-law, Anne Chance, and Marion Curle; brothers-in-law, Douglas Curle and Shawn Curle; sister-in-law, Candy Phillips (Jerrod); nieces and nephews. Shelley, Sara, Sabra, Shane, Jesse, Christopher, Gerimy, Savannah and Tyler; as well as great-nieces and nephews that she also adored.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lewis Funeral Home on Navarre Parkway on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 1pm, followed by a reception to celebrate Kathryn's life, which will take place immediately following the service at a location to be determined.
The Family wishes to thank the staff at the Joyce Goldenberg Hospice in Pensacola for the compassionate care shown to Kathryn by the entire staff during her time there. Words cannot express the gratitude they feel to these kind caregivers at Hospice, as well to friend Melissa Johnen for her selfless dedication to helping Kathryn on her final journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kathryn's memory to Covent Hospice of Pensacola.

Kenneth Hotchkin registered for the World War I Draft in 1918 while living at Dansville, Livingston County, NY, USA. The registration card gave additional information on him: "He gives his age as 18, born 29 April 1900. He says that he is a farmer working for father Guerdon Hotchkin.". He died on 20 December 1920 at Forestburg, Sullivan County, NY, USA, at age 20.^2,3 He was buried at East Branch Cemetery, at East Branch, Delaware County, NY, USA, .

     Kenneth E. Hotchkin is the son of James Alfred Hotchkin and Mary Frances Duggan.

     Kenneth Travis Hotchkin was born on 4 March 1928 at Delhi, Delaware County, NY, USA.^1,2 He was the son of Malcolm George Hotchkin and Ruth Ann Rutherford. He married Michelle S. Jensen at Travis County, TX, USA, on 31 July 1974.³ Kenneth Travis Hotchkin died on 18 June 1993 at Austin, Travis County, TX, USA, at age 65.² He was buried at Indian Rocks, at Delaware County, NY, USA, . Bovina burial records say that his ashes were scattered at Indian Rocks. It is not clear where Indian Rocks is located. These records gives his birth and death dates and his parents and wife..

     He was an artist and unmarried according to a letter that he sent the Compiler.

     Kirk Brian Hotchkin is the son of Leo Dixon Hotchkin and Grace G. Brand. He married Lisa M. Schumann at Wethersfield, Hartford County, CT, USA, on 24 January 1987.¹

     Kris Hotchkin is the daughter of Donald Eugene Hotchkin Sr. and Shirley Geraldine Snook.

     Kris Allen Hotchkin is the son of Darrell Wayne Hotchkin and Phyllis Joann Weinrick. He married Nancy Irene Hines at Winfield, Cowley County, KS, USA, on 2 August 1991.

     Kurt Christopher Hotchkin is the son of Lyle Randall (Randy) Hotchkin and Christine Unknown.

     L. Hotchkin was born in 1840 at PA, USA. He appeared on the census of 1880 at Meadville, Crawford County, PA, USA. The census lists the family as: Hotchkin, L., 40 (1840), PA, boarder, laborer, single, living in a Hotel Boarding house located at 60 Market Street, both parents born in PA..

     Known only from the census listing where he is a boarder with about 20 other men in Meadville with Sam W. Kepler. It is likely that this is Lewis Hotchkin.

     L. Hotchkin was born before 1765. He appeared on the census of 1810 at Milford, Otsego County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: L. Hotchkin, 1 male 10 to 15, 1 male 45 and over; 1 female 45 and over..

     This may likely be a Hotchkiss as I can find no Hotchkin with an initial L. and born in this time period.

     Laincha J. Hotchkin was born on 19 December 1919 at WA, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Albert Leet Hotchkin Jr. and Irene Esther Noah. Laincha J. Hotchkin married Gerald H. Otto on 5 October 1940 at Cove, King County, WA, USA.² Laincha J. Hotchkin married Walter R. Reints after 1976 at WA. Laincha J. Hotchkin died on 1 October 2003 at Glendale, Maricopa County, AZ, USA, at age 83.^3,4

     Her newspaper obituary gives her name as Reins, but the Social Security Death Index show name as Reints and the Public records has her and her husband Walter as Reints. Her Social Security records uses Otto as a middle name.

     Larita Lou Hotchkin is the daughter of Bernard Eugene Hotchkin and Caroline Genevive Lidtka. She married James L. Steiner at Ventura County, CA, USA, on 17 November 1973.¹

     Larry Alan Hotchkin is the son of Odo Bernard Hotchkin and Bernice Zella Halstead. Larry Alan Hotchkin married Peggy Yvonne Turner in April 1960 at Monroe County, FL, USA.¹ Larry Alan Hotchkin and Peggy Yvonne Turner were divorced in June 1961 at Monroe County, FL.² He married Helen Louise Hufford circa 1969.

     Lavonne J. Hotchkin was born on 7 April 1956 at Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada.¹ She was the daughter of Anthony Vaughn Hotchkin and Marlys Jeanette Anderson. Lavonne J. Hotchkin married Scott H. Chapman on 22 November 1974 at Hennepin County, MN, USA.² Lavonne J. Hotchkin married Jerry L. Gardner on 4 August 1987 at Hennepin County, MN.² Lavonne J. Hotchkin died on 18 September 1989 at Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MN, USA, at age 33.¹

     Leah Hotchkin was born on 31 August 1775 at CT, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Margaret Field.

     The birth of Leah Hotchkin to Margaret Field is recorded in the Barbour Collection and no father is given.

     Lee Thomas Hotchkin Jr. is the son of Lee Thomas Hotchkin Sr. and Ada R. Barokat. He married Traci L. Jones at Mariposa County, CA, USA, on 30 May 1981.¹

     Lee Thomas Hotchkin Sr. is the son of Thomas Clement Hotchkin and Lillian Mary Platt. He married Ada R. Barokat at Chico, Butte County, CA, USA, on 24 March 1949.¹ He married Edna Louise Zuchelli at San Rafael, Marin County, CA, USA, on 24 October 1959.¹

     Lemon B. Hotchkin was born on 10 February 1845 at Prattsburgh, Steuben County, NY, USA. He was the son of Joseph Beriah Hotchkin and Desiah Dunning. Lemon died on 31 August 1881 at Prattsburgh, Steuben County, NY, at age 36. Some of the death records give a name of Leman..¹

     Lemon died of dropsy of the heart. He was sickly and likely had diphtheria when the rest of the children died of it, but he recovered at that time.

     Lena Hotchkin was born on 26 July 1861 at Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, USA. She was the daughter of Henry W. Hotchkin and Mary Jane Semple. She married William (Will) Walner Jr. at Indian Territory, USA, circa 1878.² Lena Hotchkin died on 14 December 1890 at Pauls Valley, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory, USA, at age 29. She was buried at Phantom Hill Cemetery, at Pauls Valley, Garvin County, OK, USA, .
     William Walner Dulin said that Lena and William were buried on their farm but it looks as if they were buried on the farm of John Shirley, a Postmaster of Cherokee Town in 1874. The cemetery is presently owned by Fritz Whitaker who lives in California. Rootsweb, Garvin County, OK location has considerable information and pictures on this cemetery. The cemetery is very small with approximatelt 6 burials.

     Volume II of the History of the State of Oklahoma, says that at Lena's death, she left five sons living in Durant, OK.³

     Leo Dixon Hotchkin was born on 11 September 1911 at Concord, Jackson County, MI, USA.^1,2,3 He was the son of Theron Bertrand Hotchkin and Evah Irene (Eva) Dixon. He married Grace G. Brand at Jackson County, MI, USA, on 6 June 1936. Leo Dixon Hotchkin died on 19 July 1995 at Concord, Jackson County, MI, at age 83.^2,3 He was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, at Concord, Jackson County, MI, USA, .

     Leo's wife Grace has furnished a lot of information to the Compiler on their branch of the family. Leo's birth is recorded in Berrien Co., MI, Records on Pg 70, 1911; and his marriage to Grace Brand is given in Jackson Co. Records, Page 267, 1936.

     Leon Stanley Hotchkin was born on 2 May 1898 at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA.^3,2,4 He was the son of James W. Hotchkin and Ida May Halstead. Leon Stanley Hotchkin registered for the World War I Draft in 1918 while living at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA. The registration card gave additional information on him: "He gives his age as 20, born 2 May 1898. He says that he is a farmer working for James Hotchkin and gives James as his nearest relative.". He married Lenora Bush at Wilson, Niagara County, NY, USA, on 27 June 1923.⁵ Leon Stanley Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1930 at Wilson, Niagara County, NY. The census lists the family as: Leon S. Hotchkin 31 (1898), married at 25, born NY, parents born NY, farmer; wife Lenora M., 27 (1902), married at 20, born NY, parents born NY; daughter Caroline, 5 (1924), born NY; mother-in-law Nellie E. Bush, 52 (1877), widow, born NY, parents born NY.. He died on 4 July 1989 at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, at age 91.⁶ He was buried at Corwin Cemetery, at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA, .

     Leon and Lenora's daughter Nancy furnished the birth dates of both of her parents and the death date of her mother; she says that they lived their entire married lives at a Beebe Road farm. The 1900 census also gives his birth date but it is not clear except that the month is May. The Lockport Union Sun, 27 June, 1983 reports that Leon and Lenora celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1983, and gave their address as 3710 Beebe Rd., South Wilson, NY. Lenora reported Leon's death, to the Compiler, in a letter dated 14 November 1989. Leon and Lenora are buried in Corwin Cemetery, Newfane, NY and their graves have been inspected by the Compiler.
     The Compiler received a very informative letter from daughter Caralyn. She said, "My dad, Leon Hotchkin, worked very hard raising vegetables and attending farmers markets. He liked to play cards, enjoyed baseball games, loved picnics and parades. He was very patriotic and respectful of the flag. For a while, he worked at Cryonac in Lockport and also drove a gas truck." Daughter Doris says almost the identical thing about how hard her parents worked and that giving up their trips to the Niagara Falls Farmers Market was very hard on them.

     Leonard Hotchkin was born in 1795 at NY, USA. He married Mary Unknown at NY circa 1834. Leonard Hotchkin was a Farmer circa 1850. He appeared on the census of 1850 at Genesee Falls, Wyoming County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: Hotchkin, Leonard, age 54, b NY, farmer; wife Mary, age 50, b NY; dau Mary H., age 15, b NY; dau Josephine, age 10, b in NY; dau Ellen M., age 7, b NY..

     We do not have information on Leonard's parents or background but he must have been one of the earliest to enter New York if census information is true that he was born in the state in 1796. A Leonard Hodgkins appears in Onondaga, Onondaga Co., NY in the 1840 census and the 1880 census. At the 1880 census, he is 74 and his wife Cathern is 72; both born in NY. They have a daughter age 30 and a grand daughter, Maud, age 3. It is unlikely that this is the same person.
